چکیده

A65-year-old man was admitted because of the progressive onset of left faciobrachiocrural paresis. Twenty years previously, he underwent a right nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma; initial diagnosis was made by CT scan, because of the onset of hematuria; after nephrectomy, no adjuvant therapy was made. Brain MRI showed an extra-axial lesion of the falx, suspicious for meningioma (figure 1). Total removal of tumor and infiltrated falx was performed. Histopathology revealed meningeal metastasis of renal cell carcinoma (figure 2). A total body CT scan and a bone scintigraphy excluded any other neoplastic lesions. We describe the first case of falx metastasis from renal cell carcinoma; the patient is in good condition after radiochemotherapy at 4-month follow-up. Dural metastases after renal cell carcinoma are very rare.1 Latency of more than 10 years after nephrectomy is unusual.2 In our case, MRI findings, such as homogeneous contrast enhancement and dural tail sign, were suggestive for meningioma. Perilesional edema can be observed in association with specific subtypes of meningioma, although it could raise the suspicion of a more malignant lesion. It has been observed that the main differential diagnosis of dural metastasis is meningioma because of the absence of definite radiologic criteria.1

Dyspnea as the First Manifestation of Silent Renal Cell Carcinoma

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) accounts for only 3% of adult malignancies, and the lung is the most common site of metastasis of this tumor, which may be accompanied by pleural metastasis. However, solitary pleural involvement is very rare and its presentation with dyspnea as the first manifestation of RCC is extremely rare.We describe a 39-year-old male with episodes of dyspnea dating back 6...

Metastatic Renal cell Carcinoma Presenting as a clear-cell Tumor in Tongue: A Case Report

Introduction: Metastatic lesions of the oral cavity are extremely rare, accounting for approximately 1% of all malignant oral tumors. The most common primary sources of metastatic tumors in the oral region are, from the most to the least common, the breast, lung, kidney, bone, and colon. Renal cell carcinoma accounts for nearly 3% of all adult malignancies. It usually metastasizes to the lungs,...

Duodenal Metastases From Renal Cell Carcinoma Presented With Melena: Review and Case Report

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) metastasis to duodenum is very rare and only a few case reports are available in the literature. We here reported a patient with solitary duodenal metastasis presented with melena six years after right nephrectomy. The patient underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showing ulcerative mass at the second portion of duodenum and biopsy of this mass was consistent wit...

Nasopharyngeal Metastasis Originating From Beta-HCG Being Secreting From Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Renal Pelvis: A Case Report

Introduction: Transitional cell carcinomas (TCC) of the upper urinary tract constitute only 7% of urothelial carcinomas. The majority of upper urinary tract TCC arises from the renal pelvis, followed by the ureter. The majority of the patients are presented with microscopic or macroscopic haematuria, flank pain, or symptoms due to metastasis; however, it can be asymptomatic in 10-15%. Case pre...
